Acquisition of the “Saturn” following investment into Anker Shipping Ltd
We were pleased to have supported Downing LLP on the investment of £7 million by their Estate Planning Funds into Anker Shipping Ltd. Using those sums invested, alongside additional funds raised from Downing’s investment partners, Anker Shipping Ltd immediately acquired the container vessel “SATURN” which will now be flying the red ensign on its travels around the world.
“This was the second shipping deal where funds managed by Downing were used to acquire a container vessel. We were pleased to work again with Humphreys Law on our investment in Anker Shipping Ltd to acquire the “SATURN”, and to build on the collective experience obtained when investing in Garthcliff Shipping Ltd earlier on in the year,” said David Butler, Investment Manager at Downing.
