Chris White

Counsel

Chris has over 20 years of experience working for sponsors, borrowers and lenders on a variety of financing transactions, particularly acquisition finance and project finance transactions.
Chris trained and qualified at Osborne Clarke and then moved to Shearman and Sterling. He has spent time on secondment at Barclays Capital in their European Leveraged Finance Team.

Chris has worked across a variety of transaction types and sectors and counts one of the largest bond issuances at the time (Altice and Numericable) and the financing of the largest unsubsidised European solar PV farm among transactions that he has worked on. He has in-depth working experience of the Loan Markets Association documentation from mandate paper stage through to sell down. Chris has worked for a number of venture debt funds advising them on corporate investments.

Chris also regularly advises corporates on working capital facilities (including invoice discounting) and treasury products.

A client has commented, “Chris White has given strong and well-balanced advice in a number of cases with good appreciation of the sensitivities around the issues, not just the bare legal facts.”

Outside of work Chris enjoys running, chess and watching rugby.
