Digital parenting hub Channel Mum raises series B funding
Channel Mum is the digital parenting hub founded and managed by repeat founder Siobhan Freegard OBE and team. We were delighted to advise Downing LLP on the investment of Downing EIS funds (alongside VCT funds managed by NVM Private Equity) into Channel Mum as part of a £3.5 million series B funding round. Channel Mum was backed at seed stage by ITV plc and then at series A stage by NVM Private Equity, who followed their money on this round. Channel Mum has raised over £5.5 million to date.
Channel Mum is one of a number of UK companies at the forefront of the evolving means by which content is now consumed and by which brands seek to be relevant to consumers. And this deal is another example of both UK cheque sizes on an upward trend and that those erstwhile ‘difficult’ series B cheques are becoming perhaps easier to find for quality management teams.
Siobhan Freegard founded Netmums in 2000, which was acquired by Aufeminin in 2011. We were lucky enough to have her speaking recently at an event we co-hosted with Waypoint Partners called ‘Raising your first million’. You can see Siobhan in action in the video below talking to our very own Nitin Dahad.
